Celebrity Wedding Trends
May 3rd, 2012, by Christine Beswick
When it comes to wedding trends, celebrities seem to be the ones that set the stage for us all. If you are looking to have a truly unique wedding within the next year or two, you will want to look at how the celebs are doing it. And just because they have all of the money in the world to turn “my wedding” into a showcase of bling, doesn’t mean you have to do the same. By seeing how the celebs are celebrating, you can get a few ideas to turn your own wedding into a day that is all about you without the celebrity budget.
Natalie Portman might be the most recent big celebrity to get married. At the 2012 Academy Awards, she showed up as Mrs. Millepied, and showcased some bling to prove it. Natalie proved that micro pave rings and conflict free diamonds are the hottest trend right now and anything but out of style. She sported her new husband as arm candy and her new finger candy on the red carpet for all the world to see for the first time. The designer to Natalie’s ring was the elite Jamie Wolf, who created two diamond micro pave rings using conflict free diamonds to encase her first engagement piece. Hubby Wolf Millepied finished the look with a stunning platinum band with a satin finish.
And while we know now what the hottest jewel trends are for celebrities getting married, how are they creating trends to celebrate their big day?
Hush hush elopements in the way that Natalie and Wolf did are one way that celebs are tying the knot. While us lowlies may have a hoard of in-laws to hide from, the celebrities are hiding from the paparazzi to honor their intimate moment of union with their loved one. Take a cue from the hottest celebs like Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Jessica Alba and Cash Warren, and now Natalie Portman and get married in a destination getaway or just at City Hall!
Having an entourage is something that celebrities are famous for, and when it comes to your big day, it might be a trend you want to consider. Considering the amount of time that you are going to be photographed and video taped on this day, an entourage is a fun way to make you feel even more special on this day, as well as make sure you always look your personal best. This is one wedding trend that celebrities started, and is being used more and more often for today’s bride.
Everybody wants a wedding that marks their personality, and having not so conventional attendants is one way that celebrities are showing that off. Some are even including their furry family into their bridal party, and Adam Sandler is just one celebrity who had his two bulldogs walk down the aisle for him. Gwen Stefani’s husband Gavin Rossdale also had his sheepdog walk the aisle, with a basket of ring bearing in tote. If this is a route you think would be fun to take, check with your venue beforehand!
