Rock ní Relaxation

So how do you know St Vincent is honeymoon worthy? You take a look at who lives here. Mick Jagger, Rolling Stones front man, lives on the Grenadines and he thinks this little island rocks. If this isn't enough to convince you then turn your sights to the big screen where this little gem has appeared in dozens of major movie pictures. St. Vincent was used as a backdrop for Pirates of the Caribbean because it housed many colonial structures and an old world feel that made it prime for the series and its actors.

When to go:

While any time outside of hurricane season is a sure win/win, April is a great month for visiting the island. This is when the Easter Regatta is held which is a famed sailing event and celebration. If your new hubby is a fisherman at heart then make sure to bring him in May when Fishermanís Month kicks off . . . that is if you arenít afraid heíll stay ďgone fishiní.Ē

When not go:

Hurricane season begins in the month of June and lasts to the end of November. If you do decide to go during July, however, you will be able to catch the local carnival.

Culture shock factor:

Most people speak English or French Patois so finding someone who understands you isnít really hard. The religions are also very American ranging from Methodist to Roman Catholic.

What to do while youíre here:

While in St Vincent and the Grenadines you must do as the locals do . . . sail. The Grenadines are especially lovely for sailing and house many beautiful waters on which to embark upon adventure! If you are more of an indoor person at heart, then try out the Young Resort on St Vincent or the Iguana on the Grenadines, both are the areaís most prominent nightclubs. If you want to get away where thereís a little bit of everything then St. Vincent and the Grenadines makes a perfect getaway. This is especially true if you canít wait to find some alone time as the prime sailing makes for the perfect, private way to experience the beautiful scenery the area has to offer.
