Traveling to a Lovely Land

Things to know

This is one of the most wonderful and magical places in the world during the winter months if you love the cold and snow. Another thing that makes Lapland unique is the northern lights, which can only be found in certain parts of the world.

When to go

There are a few popular times to visit this destination. If you are especially lucky, you will get an opportunity to witness a midnight sun. If you come to Finland in the fall, you can enjoy all of the rich colors. From oranges and yellows, to browns and reds- the colors are breath taking during this time of the year. February/March also tend to be especially popular. People flock from all over in order to see the beautiful Northern Lights.

What to do

A unique thing that you can do in this location during the winter months is watch dog sledding. It is an entertaining winter sport that you can really only see in certain places such as Lapland. If you want to be adventurous, you can go skiing or spend a night at an “ice hotel”. If you are visiting during the fall, you should definitely take a walk outside and see what the outdoors has to offer. You’ll be amazed by the different colors and scenes that you will see.

Things to avoid

You want to make sure that you avoid frost bite if you plan on visiting during the colder months that are full of snow. In order to protect yourself, make sure that you bring a heavy jacket, thick snow boots, and heavy gloves.

When not to go

You may not want to travel to this location during the winter months. The cold and lack of sun may be too much. You also might not want to travel to Lapland in July because there are a lot of mosquitoes.
