Fiji has long been a honeymooner’s paradise, and is rich in history and cultural artifacts and stories that add to the ambience of the exotic locale. If you like doing what the celebrities do, Fiji will be your honeymoon location of choice as it was for the Bachelorette Trista and her husband Ryan from the infamous Bachelor television series on ABC. Other exciting tidbits about Fiji are that the Blue Lagoon movie featuring Brooke Shields was taped here, and it is reported that Jessica Simpson and her first husband honeymooned here as well. These facts and all that Fiji has to offer have made Fiji “The Most Romantic Secluded Honeymoon Place on Earth” as voted b y Island Cruises and Travel Magazine.
Best Time to GoThe Fiji islands are home to a gorgeous South Pacific climate, making for tropical temperatures all year long. When to go or when not to go will be determined by your personal preferences and what you want to do while you are here. If you are uncomfortable in warmer more humid weather, you will want to avoid the November to April season that averages approximately 88 degrees Fahrenheit. The cooler time to visit is also the dry season from May through October with temperatures averaging approximately 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
What to DoEvery section of Fiji offers its own unique set of activities, although you are likely coming to Fiji to relax and get away from it all on the beach. Any sporting activity however can be done here from scuba diving, white water rafting, kayaking, sailing, surfing, and any other water activity you can think of. As well, land sports can be enjoyed here as well, spend the morning on a lovely hike with your love and spend the afternoon relaxing on a secluded beach without a care or thought for anything else in the world. If attractions are your thing, you may want to take a bus tour to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, or take a lunch or dinner cruise along Nadi Bay. As well, Fiji is home to hot springs and mud baths.
What Not to DoBe careful of the vendors on land, as many of them can become aggressive if you do not submit to their expensive offers. For example, it is not uncommon for a vendor to ask your name and then carve it on a wooden sword for you in seconds, but only to demand a high price for the item. Not entertaining vendors with your wallet may cause them to become aggressive, so only bring a little bit of cash on hand when you are wandering the markets and leave your personal information in your hotel.
