Checking Out the Czech, The Most Beautiful European City

Prague in the Czech Republic is a bit like Hollywood is to the United States. From Mission Impossible to the Chronicles of Narnia just to name a few, hundreds of hit feature films have been filmed in Prague along with countless music videos such as Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” and Kanye West’s “Diamonds from Sierra Leone.”

When to go:

Spring is an excellent time to come to Prague. The city’s Magnolia trees are in full bloom along with the other brilliant foliage the city has to offer. If you can’t make it in springtime, fall is also a great time to stop by for a visit. The weather is usually reliably sunny during the autumn seasons.

When not to go:

The worst times to visit Prague are during the summer and winter. Summer, although it a bit surprising, has an unpredictable weather pattern. Some days are bright, sunny and warm while others offer cold, cold rain. Winter is also a difficult time to travel to the city as tourists are coming in flocks for the holidays from Germany and Italy.

Culture shock factor:

Breakfast is not likely to greet you with eggs and bacon. You’re most likely to wake up to pink meat spreads, warm cheese and thick breads. Public urination is also not uncommon. Taxis also are known for overcharging foreigners so do your homework and know the prices before you board or else you could get taken advantage of. City Taxi is among one of the most reputable.

What to do while you’re here:

You must try the fabled beer while you are in Prague and stop to see the Astronomical Clock which bursts forth with wooden saints every hour on the hour. If you stick around longer you can try to figure out the zodiac signs as many claim that the clock housed hidden occult meanings. Prague Castle is another can’t miss and makes amazing photographs for the wedding album. Prague may bring a bit of culture shock but after a day or two in the city you’ll forget all about it. Thanks to its vintage beauty and charm, you’ll have a honeymoon experience you won’t soon forget.
